Steve
Founder
Steve has been part of the green industry his entire life. He owns and operates Nursery Direct, one of the largest horticultural distribution and finance groups in the eastern US. He previously co-owned and managed multiple horticultural distribution centers (HDC’s), growing operations, retail operations, and real estate in Canada and the Northeast as part of a family business. Olympus Partners purchased family operations in 2004.

Sales & Operations
D.J. Griffith's journey in the horticultural industry began as a third-generation nurseryman through an apprenticeship at a garden center founded by his grandparents in 1965. Over fifteen years, he developed extensive knowledge of both retail and wholesale horticulture, eventually becoming the nursery manager and an officer on the board of directors. Before joining Nursery Direct, D.J. worked as a foreman for a prominent landscaping company.

Our office staff boasts a combined total of 35 years in the green industry, covering all aspects from nursery to landscaping, ensuring expert support for our clients. Tracy Van Rye
Office
Tracy Van Rye brings many years of experience in the horticulture industry, including a background in both commercial and residential design. Tracy has a strong foundation in operations, sourcing and procuring nursery stock, along with logistics. When she’s not working, Tracy enjoys good sushi, a competitive round of Mah Jongg, and hanging out with her 3-legged dog, Benny.

Gregg brings a wealth of experience to the gardenUP team, having transitioned from a decade-long career as an arborist to leadership positions in operations within the tech industry. With an eye for innovation, Gregg plays a pivotal role in integrating new technology and driving forward-thinking initiatives within the platform.
